  3.  Duke is ranked 9 in the NCAA college rankings. Virginia is first, Villanova is second, Xavier is third, Kansas state is fourth, and Michigan state is fifth in the NCAA rankings.
  4. This season Duke has had 31 wins and 7 losses for the season so far, but it is not over yet.  Currently they are 2 games into the " March Madness" or NCAA tournament, and they sit in 9th place for the national rankings. Last year North Carolina tar heels won the NCAA championships in 2017.  In basketball holding the ball and walking around with it is called traveling you can receive a foul for doing this. Another rule is you can not hit or hold on to a person while playing or else you could be fouled or disqualified. The third rule is is that a free throw is worth one point. Basketball uses slang term like rebound, which is when the team get the ball back after they miss a shot. Another term is traveling which is when a player walks around the court without dribbling the ball. Lastly there is a crossover which is when the player dribbles and passes the ball from hand to hand. Most people think that to play basketball you have to be really tall, but there are players in college and in professional who are not over six feet.
  5. Micheal Jordan is arguably one of the best basketball players in history. He was born in Brooklyn, New York February 17,1963.  As a student he attended the high school Emsley A. Laney in North Carolina. Jordan played for the the North Carolina tar heels in college, and then was drafted to the Chicago bulls in the NBA. Then he later moved to the Washington Wizards where he ended his career. In 1992 Jordan set a record for 23 freethrows made in half of a game, he also had eight steals in half of a game,he still holds the all-time record for leading the NBA in total points scored 11 times Additionally, it is also an all-time record that Jordan led the NBA in scoring 10 times, he has scored the most points in a playoff games, and he still has so many more records that he has set in his season.
