  1. Charlottesville officials covered Civil war monument while mourning the death of Heather Heyer due to white supremacist marches. As some are glad the statues are being covered White nationalist groups are in the streets protesting this action due to it being illegal.
  2. I think the statues should have been shrouded. They are praising people who supported slavery and broke away from the United States. What we are all about is being "united and equal" although the statute was of someone who showed neither of those things. The statues could possibly be offending the peoples who's relatives were enslaved.
  3. I think UT's decision to remove the statues was also a good decision. Going onto the same as the previous those people should not be considered "Civil War heroes" Because if they supported and did what they did in this current day that would be illegal  so why should we consider them so great.  Again to some people that was very racist and offensive.
  4. Personally the statues don't effect my life or offend me because i do not know what it is like to be discriminated against, so I feel like I don"t really have a place to say. So they do not bother me if they are there or not but it does bother me that it is offended people so much so for that reason they should not be in public. 
  5. I have not participated in any discussions but I did see about all the Charlottesville events all over twitter. I saw some people glad about what happened and mad about what happened.
